In 2008 classical guitar teacher Paul Mahon quenelled and sautéed his way into the history books by defeating 7 other finalists to become the first ever HEAT Champion.

RTÉ’s HEAT is currently on the hunt again for Ireland’s most enthusiastic amateur chefs. We are looking for people who have never cooked professionally but know their roux from their ‘roo; people who have always fancied plating up their own creations in a real and pressured restaurant; people who have a passion for food and a competitive edge.

So, can you stand the HEAT?

Do you have what it takes to design a menu and cook it for real, paying customers, in a real restaurant?

Are you prepared to put your culinary ability to the test in the ultimate pressure cooker – a professional kitchen?
